Email account queries

What is the use of email listener and where we use? As my knowledge we can use it in inbound email. Can anyone clarify my doubt?

Hi,

Main task of Email Listener is that it monitors folders where new mails might be added, either by an external systems or by users, and performs the required activity in PRPC.

For eg: We can configure an email listener , to listen to a folder in GMail and create a WO in prpc , when ever a new email is received.
