Email Account Not working
Dear support,
I just created a Email Account rule with the following configuration but I keep getting fail when I test the connectivity.
- I already checked if the gmail account is allowing less secure apps.
- Created the DSS Email/DisableSecuritySTARTTLS in the Pega-IntSvcs and set it to true.
- Checked if the Firewall/Ports are blocking something.
Please, help me to understand what else could be wrong. Thanks and regards!

Hi,
When you do test connectivity at what point it is failing?
Could you please attach the complete stack trace and the configuration details.
We have seen issues where sometimes permission is required from the email account which you have configured, could you please check this as well.

Hi,
Hope you don't have two step authentication in gmail ?
Also which version of Pega you are using as this was issue with some old version for which that DSS was used.
Can you add the screenshot of configuration as well?
Thank You

I do, but I tested creating the same Email Account rule (same configuration) in another Pega environment and it perfectly worked (I'd like to emphasize that this was on a 8.1 Pega Personal Edition)
Also which version of Pega you are using as this was issue with some old version for which that DSS was used.
I'm having trouble on a 7.4 Pega Enterprise Edition.
As an addition, this is not the only weird trouble I'm facing in this environment. For instances:
- In my Email Account rule, after selecting the Email Provider and save the rule, it doesn't save the provider.
- I exactly replicated a functional REST Integration in this environment and for some reason I'm getting the following error: https://imgur.com/a/BzaYMWe
All of this suggest me that it may be some installation problems but I want to discard all options first. If you have any more ideas, I'd gladly appreciate it!

You are using port 587 which is for STARTTLS.
Could you try once with any other port (SMTP or unsecured), just to check if it works for other ports or not.

I'm using that port since I already created the DSS Email/DisableSecuritySTARTTLS in the Pega-IntSvcs and set it to true. But yes, I also tried ports 465 and 25; the problem persists.

Does the test connectivity for the receiver is failing as well where you are using IMAP protocol?

Yes, it's failing as well (even in the same way, same error). I also tried both IMAP with 993 port and POP3 with 995. None worked.

The DSS Email/DisableSecuritySTARTTLS is set to true only when you are not using STARTTLS.
Can you remove this DSS and then use 587 port and try test connectivity once.
If it fails again check if it is failing with same error message or is it different this time.

I just tried what you suggested, and yes, it fails again with the exact same error.

Disable two step authentication in gmail. Use only single password authentication and test. It should work.
Cross check rest of the configuration from here, also cross check password.

I created a new gmail account for testing without 2-step authentication and followed the tutorial you linked; still not working. If we can't find any solutions today, we're going to tried on another functional environment with the same version and see if we get the errors.
