Generally, "Best Practices" are discussed in Pega Academy courses where the discussion can first present a series of mitigating factors and from there, one can determine the best approach as the factors change. It would be hard to get a SME to respond in "general" - its best to put forth your ideas and see if a conversation can be generated that way.
