Issue
The Angular SDK is designed to provide customers with a bridge from the Pega Constellation JavaScript Engine (which is not open sourced) via Angular. This is important for clients who do not want to the use the out-of-the-box React-based implementation of Constellation. The SDK provides implementations of many container and presentation components.
When a Picklist field is added to a View using the Details (Two Columns) template in Pega Platform™ '25.1.1, the Angular SDK renders the raw property value (the code/key) instead of the human-readable display text. The same view renders correctly in the Pega Platform UI.
Symptoms and Impact
UI shows code mapping values rather than full data values due to missing Data Page calls.
No error is thrown. Failure is silent.
Two distinct defects combine to produce this behavior:
- When a Picklist is added via the Details (Two Columns) template, the backing Data Page is never called.
- Even when the Data Page is called by another path, the Picklist still does not display the resolved display value.
Steps to reproduce
- In Pega Platform '25.1.1, open a Case Type in Dev Studio or App Studio.
- Create or open a view using the Details (Two Columns) template.
- Add a Picklist field whose Property for display text is sourced from a Data Page.
- Open the same case in the Pega Platform UI. Result: The Picklist shows the correct display text.
- Open the same case through the Angular SDK frontend. Result: The Picklist shows the raw key/code value instead of the display text. No errors appear in the browser console or network tab.
Root Cause
This is a product defect in the Angular SDK for Pega Platform '25.1.1. The SDK component responsible for rendering the Details (Two Columns) template does not invoke the Data Page associated with Picklist fields. When the Data Page is not called, the SDK has no display value to resolve and falls back to rendering the stored key.
Solution
The permanent fix is included in Angular SDK version 25.1.14. Update to that version or later when available.
Local Change (Interim)
A patched NPM version 0.25.17 was published by Pega Engineering for immediate fix.
- Update the relevant
@pega/package in thepackage.jsonto version0.25.17. - Run
npm installto pull the patched package.-
Install both packages:
-
npm i @pega/[email protected]
-
npm i @pega/[email protected]
-
-
- Rebuild and redeploy the Angular SDK application.
Validate the fix by loading the affected view in the Angular SDK and confirming that the Picklist displays the human-readable label instead of the key value.
The Angular SDK is distributed via the Pega Marketplace.
- Navigate to https://community.pega.com/marketplace/component/angular-sdk
- Accept the Marketplace Terms of Use (requires a Pega Community login)
- Download the desired version directly from the listed ZIP links on that page
The Marketplace page is the single authoritative source — no separate entitlement or license request is required beyond having a Pega Community account.
Check back on the Marketplace page for future releases. You can also verify whether 25.1.14 has been released via the Angular SDK Release Notes page: https://docs.pega.com/bundle/constellation-sdk/page/constellation-sdks/sdks/angular-sdk-updates.html
