SMTP Setting in Pega Marketing
Hi, I would like to ask how to configure the email account in our Pega Marketing.
I have just performed the implementation procedures, and configuring email accounts as shown in "Pega Marketing Implementation Guide 8.2" (Page 21).
Our server is settled in trusted segment of our network, so it doesn't allow to connect to the internet.
We need to use smtp server provided in the same segment, to configure our service.
For configuring the smtp server settings, our system admin shows only IP address and port number because it doesn't require authentication.
But in Pega Screen requires username and password. (Please see attached)
What should I put to these fields?
I also checked Exercise System of Pega Academy, and found the "Email Account:Smart Email Sample" has blank password field.
Is there any resort to configure email setting with password field blank?

Hi all,
let me straight to the point, my problem has been solved by switching the applications.
When I switched applications to the Pega Platform, then open the email accounts screen, I found the password field turned "not required" field.
Although it seems strange behavior, my problem has been solved anyway.

You may be presented with an internal SMTP relay server. If you put any user/pwd into those fields, what is the outcome of the test connectivity? I assume you cannot save without entering any values in those fields.

The IP " Proprietary information hidden", I put into the screen, is our internal SMTP relay server's.
This is not SMTP server's IP.
Is there any instruction when configuring via smtp relay server?

I tried my mail account and pwd then I could save the configuration.
But the connectivity test failed.
The status message is as follows:
Sender
Exception caught connecting to email server; Could not connect to SMTP host
Disconnect not attempted.
