Pega Marketing v7.3.1 compatibility with SMPP and SMTP version

We are using Pega Marketing for Communications v7.3.1

We are interested to understand if there is any limitation in Pega Marketing 7.3.1 in terms of version compatibility with SMPP and SMTP for SMS outbound/inbound and Email outbound respectively. Which are the different versions of these protocols are supported in PM 7.3.1?

Also does Pega OOTB only support SMSC for outbound/inbound SMS?

Any suggestion in this area would be a great help.

@SUDIPTASAHA, can you elaborate which specific protocols you have in mind? In general, Pega Marketing 7.3.1 uses NCL API (see activity SendSMSBatch). Here are the protocols supported from the NCL web site: http://www.ncl.ie/SwiftNote.html
