P.E 7.3.1 installation issue('cscript error)
hi all,
When installing Pega 7.3.1 getting below error, Could anybody please help me to install it
PRPC Launching:
[echo] Starting tomcat ....
[exec] 'cscript' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
[exec] operable program or batch file.
BUILD FAILED

Thanks for posting on PSC.
The "cscript.exe" file is found in C:\Windows\System32\cscript.exe and it is used to execute VBScript in Windows.
In your case, I suspect it's getting blocked.
1. Either by some antivirus program which is preventing it from executing.
2. Could you verify that the cscript.exe location? Is it located in the correct location and PATH environment variable is pointing to C:\Windows\System32 correctly?
In either case, VBscript is getting the block in your system and eventually, the script run with failure and installation fails.
Testing:- From the Command Prompt, type path with no quotes. Are you able to access it? If no, add the path to the environment variable of your system.
The above steps will resolve the reported issue at your end. Kindly mark this as answered, if it helps.

Hi,
thank you for replying.In my system the environment variable path is C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_92\bin;.Did you ask me to change the path to c;\windows\system32 ? .
i dont have any antivrus installed.
