Sequence steps for installing pega 7.3.1
Hello, We are in process of installing pega 7.3.1 with weblogic & Oracle combination. Please confirm the sequence of steps that i should follow 1. Create tablespace & users(with privileges) 2.Run generateddl.bat file by updating setupDatabase. Properties file . 3.run generateudf.bat 4.Run IUA tool with checkbox 'bypass schema generation' checked 5.Deploy ear file in web logic configuration changes Question #1 :Is this sequence correct for manual schema generation? Questions #2 : what IUA tool exactly does here? Does it populate the table content?

1. First i need to run generateddl.bat and then start IUA tool right? Yes, you can look into "Appendix C — Optional: Generating and applying DDL" section in the document for generating and applying the DDL process.
Because 31st page of guide says, first complete IUA and then run generateddl.bat file -> you should generate and apply the DDL first then run the IUA by choosing bypass DDL option.
2. What IUA tools does here at high level? Does it populate the contents of table -> yes.

Hello,

The installation steps are classified into different paths based on the type of installation you are performing i.e single/split schema, single/dual user configuration,DDL generation and other factors. So i would suggest you to go through the installation document provided by Pega and follow the steps according to your requirement. As you are using the Weblogic and Oracle database, attached the respective installation guide for your reference.

Question #1 :Is this sequence correct for manual schema generation? -> If you prefer the generate and apply the DDL changes & UDFs manually then you need to run generateDDL.bat/sh and follow Installing User-defined functions section, in order to enable Bypass Automatic DDL Application during IUA installation process.

So overall my suggestion for you would be to follow the Pega installation document so that you wont miss any step.
