I got from this link, that you only need to run update wizard to update from 7.1.9 to 7.2.1.

So i opened: designer studio > system > release > upgrade > update existing applications

Then i clicked Run:

While updating, I browsed to this tab "Final Conflicts":

Then went back to the update tab. After ~10mins of running the update wizard:

It says "Update Wizard Activity Complete", but only indicates 99%.

I then proceed to restarting pega, then open the update page again, same contents as the one in first image.
