Can we deploy generated Product (jar) with Pega 7.2 in Pega 7.1.7 and viceversa?
Hi,
the customer would like to upgrade the development environment from Pega 7.1.7 to Pega 7.2, but would like to upgrade Production environment after a while. So we are going to develop stuff on Pega 7.2 and generate Products using this version.
Do you see any problem to import those Product (generated with Pega 7.2) on Pega 7.1.7 instance? Is it possible also to deploy Products from Pega 7.1.7 to Pega 7.2?

Hi. I agree with Kevin that rules created on 7.1.7 should migrate to a 7.2 system without problem, I would caution against building rules in 7.2 and moving them to a 7.1.7 system. I don't know of any specific problems, but that is not something we test or expect to work without problem. I know in the past with other version there were a number of problems. The first that comes to mind being cause by properties on the ruleform that don't exist in the earlier version (or worse yet, an internal property who's usage has changed every so slightly). It's like installing an HFix without installing the dependencies, it may just work, but you are using pieces of code not built to work together. If it fails, it may be in some subtle, hard to debug sort of way.
I wouldn't do any major or critical development on 7.2 until you're ready (or at least close) to move production there as well.

Have you encountered any issues from pega 7.2 to pega 7.1.7? from pega 7.1.7 to pega 7.2 should always work (backward compatible).
