Significance of pages pyPortal, pyPortalHarness and pyDisplayHarness in displaying a harness

I would like to understand the usage and the difference between the below 3 pages in displaying the harness:

  • pyPortal
  • pyPortalHarness
  • pyDisplayHarness

I have found the below mesh post regarding the pyPortalHarness

  US-49965 : Page management changes for SDM   <internal link, can only be accessed by Pega employees>

Seems like the portal rules are running a copy of pyDisplayHarness in pyPortalHarness. but what necessitated them to move to pyPortalHarness is not known

Hi Avinash,

pyDisplayHarness is the default primary page whenever we launch a harness. And pyPortal page plays a significant role when we Open a portal layout and show it

Any idea on the significance of pyPortalHarness page.

Can we play around with pyDisplayHarness page.. Like setting some properties etc..

Actually in our current implementation we are adding a couple of pages to pyDisplayHarness and using it across screens.. So it really recommended to use pyDisplayHarness for application specific activities

Hi

Firstly, I am not sure about the significane of pyPortalHarness page !

Second thing , regarding the customization of pyDisplayHarnessPage, I think it is not recommended to play around with it as this holds the key of opening any harness ( be it ruleform or portal ) . But if it is something that you have to access and twig then you can try that. There is nothing wrong trying something ! If you face challenge then you can get back to PSC
