Upgrade from 6.1 SP2 to 7.1.7 - Could not reserve enough space for object heap
Issue while upgrading from 6.1 SP2 to Pega 7.1.7
Approach : Single schema to Split schema
Issue faced

We are facing the below issue while Executing the PEGA Upgrade Wizard (IUA) from a Windows Server 2008:
Run Update Wizard:
[java] Could not create the Java virtual machine.
[java] Error occurred during initialization of VM
[java] Could not reserve enough space for object heap
BUILD FAILED

Below are the Application details :

Current PEGA environment : PEGA 6.1 SP2

Upgrade version : PEGA 7.1.7, 64 bit JVM

Database: DB2/AIX64

Split schema approach : Yes
-
Rule schema name : RXPQ

Data schema name : RXRF
-
4 GB RAM
-
Enough disk space (PEGA recommendation is > 6 GB)

JVM version: 1.6.0_06 (build 1.6.0_06-b02)
Solution tried but failed
Updated the memory in the machine to Min – 512 MB and Max – 1536 MB which is also mentioned as a Resolution per PDN link below. https://pdn.pega.com/support-articles/could-not-reserve-enough-space-object-heap
