Upgrading from PRPC 6.1 SP2 and earlier
Hi,
We are in process of upgrading our Pega environment to PRPC7.1.8 version. In the 7.1.8 upgrade guide, there is one step mentioned "Upgrading from PRPC 6.1 SP2 and earlier: running additional scripts". In this step it has been mentioned to run below sql scripts.
<database>_rulesetversion_columns_data.sql
<database>_rulesetversion_columns_rule.sql
Now the query is
1. Do we need to run these scripts in our 6.1 environment before running any upgrade script/steps? Or need to run post upgrade?
2. What changes these scripts does?
Please suggest.

Run the additional scripts as part of the Preparing your database section before you continue with other steps in the guide.
The. rulesetversion_columns_data.sql and rulesetversion_columns_rule.sql scripts update the columns in the rulesets.

But if you see those SQL , you will see there are many tables which does not exist in 5.x version. So my feeling is those 2 script need to be run after data only upgrade

Now the query is

Ans : You need to run these scripts post upgrade to complete the upgrade.
2. What changes these scripts does?
Ans : If you open the script files availble under "Pega718\ResourceKit\AdditionalUpgradeScripts" you can understand.
