OS support for Upgrading from 6.1 SP2 to Pega 7.2.2
Hi All ,
One of our client is looking for an upgrade to Pega 7.2.2 from 6.1,
As per client request initially to run Upgrade scripts on AIX Proprietary information hidden (current 6.1 env ,but as per latest Platform support guide Pega 7.2.2 will support on IBM AIX 7.1\Linux7..) and later on it will used in a Linux 7 (proposed 7.2.2 environment )? Is it possible can some one help on this .

Not sure which version of oracle 11g you have on Pega 6.1 . Minimum version required is Oracle 11gR2 for running the upgrade scripts otherwise upgrade wont work.
Regarding AIX 6.1 version make sure that that IBM java version in AIX 6.1 is compatible with Pega 7.2.2 platform.
As per I know AIX 6.1 comes with IBM JDK 6.1 which is not supported by Pega 7.2.2. Hence you need to have the AIX version which has the IBM JDK 7 version.

If you are running the upgrade scripts on AIX 6.1 which has JDK 1.6 then that is not supported by Pega 7.2.2.
That means you can't run an upgrade on JDK 1.6.

one more question here , is there any dependency on JDK installed on APP server and DB server? both should be same ? what will happen if both are different.
does upgrade scripts depends on DB server JDK ?

Thanks a lot for response Devendra .We have one more question here,
Currently our DB as 11gR2 and JDK version in DB Server is 7 which is running on OS as AIX 6.1, Is there any impact. If not can we run pega upgrade scripts on same DB Server? Please clarify on this.

I am not sure whether your DB server is on different machine than Application server.
DB Server JDK does not matter. You have to make sure that Application server machine has the Pega 722 supported JDK version.

As per my knowledge DB server (11g R2 with JDK 7 running on OS: AIX6.1) is on different machine than Application server, If yes Is there any Issues to run pega upgrade scripts on same DB Server? please advice here .
Also we verified that Application Server details (Web logic 12.3 and JDK version in Application server is 7 running on OS: Linux 6.x) in latest 722 support guide - Supported.
