Pega Thread TimeOut
Hi Can someone know what to do? How can Pega determine the two different thread at same portal share TimeOut setting so that the other thread should not be timeOut when other thread is active. Thanks

Hi ,
Pega by default has Page Passivation for Pages , thread and requestor. For threads the time is 30 mins , so if your thread is inactive fo 30 mins its gets passivated by the Passivation Daemon(An agent) . But you can keep on working on other threads.
The settings are in prconfig.xml file.

What you are trying to achieve is not possible. They are indepdent thread and unless you are writting some complex java code to access the other thread.
I would suggest to change the setting so thread doesn't passivate at all. This way you would have only Requestor level timeout and effectively both thread will time out together along with requestor.

Hi Saeed,
What settings need to be added in prconfig so that thread does not passivate at all and this we can achieve Requestor level timeout only. Our app is in Pega 7.1.8.

You can set the DSS setting:
Owning Ruleset = Pega-Engine
Setting purpose = prconfig/timeout/thread
Value = 1800
(passivate after 30 minutes)

For browser timeout you can specify like this
Setting purpose as prconfig/timeout/browser/default
value = 7200 (passivate after 2 hours)
