Open link from correspondence

Hi, I need to implement below scenario.

Email will be triggered when Work Object is moved from TL to Manager. In the email a link will be sent "Click here to take an action". When user clicks the link the workobject approval screen should be displayed. 

source of the link is a property and value(url) has been set to the property during the runtime.

I tried OnClick events like Open URL in window, but it is not working. in my application UI is not developed in PEGA. 

Please suggest better approach.
