Log files fail to download from Dev Studio after entering operator credentials.

Symptoms and Impact

The following symptoms occur on entering operator credentials in Dev Studio:

• Log files fail to download.
• Dev Studio Sign-in dialog returns a 401 Unauthorized error.

Steps to reproduce

1. Log in to Dev Studio.
2. In the Dev Studio header, navigate to Configure > System > Operations > Logs.
3. On the Logs tab, under the Log Utilities section, click Log Files.
4. In the Log File Download popup, select either Text or Zip for one of the listed files.
5. When prompted by the Sign-in dialog, enter your credentials. 

Root Cause

This behavior occurs when operator credentials are entered in the Dev Studio log download authentication window. The expected credentials are the administrator credentials for the application server that hosts the Pega Platform instance, not the operator credentials.

Solution

1. Log in to Dev Studio.
2. In the Dev Studio header, navigate to Configure > System > Operations > Logs.
3. On the Logs tab, under the Log Utilities section, click Log Files.
4. In the Log File Download popup, select either Text or Zip for one of the listed files.
5. When prompted by the Sign-In dialog, enter the administrator credentials for the application server that hosts the Pega Platform instance. Do not enter the operator credentials.
