Will Pega support deprecated controls if we do a tolerance upgrade

Hi Team,

We are planning to a tolerance upgrade from 7.2.2 to 8.4 version so wanted to check if Pega will support deprecated controls or not.

What controls are you talking about exactly? Even deprecated it should still be working unless highly customized. Having said that moving from 7.2 to 8.4 I'm not sure a like for like approach will be the best one. You definitely wants to work with our new features for a better user experience.

Pega does support deprecated control but the best approach is to use the new controls or upgrade the old ones. As said in the link - https://community.pega.com/sites/default/files/help_v73/basics/basics2/preface/deprecated.htm , Deprecated features in Pega Platform are still supported when the product is upgraded, but their use in new development is not advised. Use replacement features instead, if they are available.

 

Update Controls effectively render your application user interface in HTML 5 document type (standards mode). Rendering your application in HTML5 document type ensures cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility and use of the latest HTML markup, among other benefits.

You can update a number of controls automatically. Other controls may require a manual update.
