What is the impact if I apply an Maintenance Level Updates to a release prior to 7.1.0?
Hi,
What would happen Or what is the impact if I apply an Maintenance Level Updates to a release prior to 7.1.0?
In a brief, I have PRPC 6.3 SP1 version. Now, I would like to upgrade my 6.3 SP1 version to 7.1.7. So, unfortunately I used Maintenance level updates binaries for the 6.3 SP1 to 7.1.7 upgrade. But the upgrade was successful and the environment is up and accessible. But I realized that we shouldn't use Maintenance level updates to a release prior to 7.1.0 as per the MLU FAQ which is available at https://collaborate.pega.com/discussion/maintenance-level-updates-vs-personal-edition.
Here are few FAQ's.
What is a Maintenance Level Update (MLU)?
A Maintenance Level Update (MLU) is a new distribution kit format that contains cumulative fixes and enhancements to the product since the Pega 7.1.0 release. It is not a full product release. You must have an earlier version of Pega 7.1.x installed (for example, if you are using Pega 7.1.3, you can apply the MLU for Pega 7.1.6). Cumulative release notes are posted on the PDN at https://pdn.pega.com/release-notes.

Can I apply an MLU to a release prior to 7.1.0?
No, you cannot use the MLU to update a release prior to 7.1.0. If you are running a version prior to 7.1.0, you must use the full distribution kit to upgrade your system to the latest 7.1.x release. However, once you upgrade, you can apply maintenance level updates going forward.
But I want to know what is the impact if we apply MLU to a release prior to 7.1.0? Because our upgrade was successful even though we used MLU binaries on 6.3 SP1 binaries. So please clarify my question, What would happen Or what is the impact if I apply an Maintenance Level Updates to a release prior to 7.1.0?...
Thanks,
