"What is a Maintenance Level Update (MLU)? A Maintenance Level Update (MLU) is a new distribution kit format that contains cumulative fixes and enhancements to the product since the Pega 7.1.0 release. It is not a full product release. You must have an earlier version of Pega 7.1.x installed (for example, if you are using Pega 7.1.3, you can apply the MLU for Pega 7.1.6). Cumulative release notes are posted on the PDN at https://pdn.pega.com/release-notes. "

I don't see "personal edition" mentionned in your quote, nor in the whole guide. Aren't there any technical differences between PE and non-PE?

As per the above comment from "HENSJ1" - Upgrading PE is not supported. But i have read in the release notes that Upgrade is different from Update.

I would like to know if PE Update is possible or not.

Is Personl Edition Update from 7.1.2 to 7.1.2 supported through ML8?

I meant Update from 7.1.2 to 7.1.8 PE Update.

I guess PE *Update* also is not supported.

You can not upgrade or update Personal Edition. 

For the full Pega 7 Platform, an update is a new distribution kit that contains cumulative fixes and enhancements to the product since Pega 7.1.0; it is not a full product release. In contrast, upgrades are full product releases. If you need to move from any version prior to Pega 7.1.0, you must upgrade. To move from any Pega 7.1.x version to the most current release, run the update. See the Upgrade Guide or the Update Deployment Guide for more information about the differences between upgrades and updates.

Carbs, Can i export the application in older PE version and import in a latest PE version just to keep my work in progress going on ??

Ashok: Yes, you can port your application to the newest version of Personal Edition:

1. Create a product rule to store your application and save the rule locally. See the help for instructions.

2. Uninstall the earlier version of Personal Edition. See the Personal Edition Installation Guide for your version of Personal Edition.

3. Install the new version of Personal Edition according to the instructions in the new Installation Guide.

4. Use the import wizard to import the application.  See the help for instructions.
