URL mappings
Hi everybody. I am in need to use URL mappings to open a case through a link received via email. So I went to Pega help to take a look on how to create the URL mapping, and follow everything. The problem is, Pega does not have a real example on how to use that. So can anybody please help me with that? We need to open the case but only for the user which have the proper access group, so we need to send the case ID and also the access group. The Pega will be opened and ask for username and password to get through. We try something but no lucky on how to do it. Again Pega do not have any examples on that.

@mario.mesquita Please see attached screenshots from a sample implementation and give it a try. You do not need to send the access group, it will be automatically set when the user enters his username and password. If the user has no access to the case, the authentication will be failed.

I have done exactly what you propose and I create this url to test it:

after I access this link I am asked for username and password and then after that I get the screen attached. Would you mind to help me a little more?

@varap1 also after taking a look on that activity, and talking to our manager we just thought about something. We have and will have more than one applications on production, and some users can have more than one accesss groups for it. So, we cannot use pxOpenByKeys, because this activity does not allow us to change the access group. So with that said, we kind of need help on how to accomplish that. Because we are trying your suggestion and we are using one that it comes as a sample with Pega but we are getting 404 anyways.

@mario.mesquitaYou might want to try using application URL alias to achieve automatic switching of the applications. However, the 404 error I see might be something to do with the cloud and I would suggest you to reach out to the cloud team.

@Pavan Varada thanks for the reply, but application alias does not fit the requerement which is to send an email to our operators with the case link on it. That it can be reached by using URL mappings, And this functionality does not have any practical examples neither is decribed by the pega academy with examples. So I thank you for your time, but we need to find some information on that topic like working samples by Pega, or either a topic in the web classes that Pega makes available for the certifications. For sure that is missing on the certification classes.
