Upgrade manual unclear

Hi,

I am conducting upgrade Pega Platform version from 7.4 to 8.2.1. The upgrade guide, in general, is unclear about what to set in the schema name in IUA. For example, please take a look at page 35 in the below manual.

I am not sure what schema I should enter for Data Schema here. If blank, I can't move to next so I should enter something. The manual doesn't say (I am doing Out-of-place upgrade with single migration).

I guess this has to be "newrules (migrated rules schema)" instead of "data (current existing data schema)" as the next section describes how to upgrade data schema only by another tool. Am I correct? What should I enter here?

Well, above manual section is common for all different approaches and that is causing issue. I request manual to be revised to avoid confusion.

Hi Tsuck,

 

You have to enter 'new rules' for the rules schema name. (assuming you have performed first steps and migrated the rules to a 'new rules' schema)

and for data schema name , you have to give your current data schema name.

The in-place and out-of-place upgrades difference you can see in case of scripted upgrade deployments.

If you are doing the upgrade deployments through IUA, there is no much difference, hence the same content is repeated it seems.
