Update assignment shape work status with existing assignments
Hi,
I have requirement where assignment status should be updated to new value. Also to update old assignment status values to new ones.
1) Can this be achieved by just updating the workstatus value on existing assignment shape in workflow?
2) Update the existing assignment status by OOTB activity like UpdateStatus etc. to reflect new status on assignment.
Will this change not corrupt existing opened assignments in PROD?
Please suggest.

- ) If you attempt to update existing assignments, you need to verify that the requestor performing the update has the lock. If you don't want to wait before all in flight cases have been resolved, the easiest way to do so is by using a retry or requeue should the case be locked.
Do verify that if you are making changes to flows, you need to create a parallell old (no incoming connectors) and new flow path or do something like circumstancing based on a date property.
'Corrupted' assignments may mean a lot of things, but it's unlikely that a change like this will be the cause of it. So in short, you're good to go with the approach you proposed yourself :)

My only concern is if I update work status on assignment shape in flow can corrupt existing assignments or not.
