Is there a way to run agent on a specific node?
Hi,
I have a requirement to run the advanced agent on a specific node. Is it possible and can it be configured from designer studio itself? Also if possible how to manage this for different environments D, T, A and P as they all can/will have different nodes?
I see an option on Schedule tab of the agent form under advanced "Run this agent on only one node at a time" but I believe this will only cause it to run on one node but not a specific node.
We are using Pega 7.3.0. Kindly let me know if any other information is needed.

As mentioned in above link we classified all our nodes to some type and left none of the nodes as un-typed. And then we associated the agent with a node type and this way we were able to run agent only on a specific node.

Onkar,
You have to disable the agent schedule for the other node. Navigate to Node tab of Agent rule and check the list of schedules per node.
Open the required node schedule and make it disabled. Hope this helps.

I did check but I do not see any option there to configure agent to run on specific node on different environments.
Only option I see to this problem is to disable it on Agent schedule instances but that I believe has to be done on different environments separately.
On another note how did you know I asked this question? Where on PDN can I see people posting their queries? I am asking this because even I want to help people if I can to best of my abilities.

Hi All,
Actually there is a better way which is introduced in Pega 7.3. In this you need to set a type for a node and then in the Agent rule we can associate the agent with a node type so that it only runs on the specified node. Kindly see below documentation-
