Submitting Local Action from Optimzed Grid causes a Harness Reload
Hi All,
We have a screnario where we have our Worklist created on Pega's Optimized Grid. On this grid we have a menu option that lists a series on Local actions that the user can take. These local actions are displayed over Overlays.
When we open up a Local Action complete the single page task over the Overlay and submit the Local action we are observing a full harness reload. (Note same issue is observed in Modal Dialog as well)
On checking further we observed that the issue is seen only on Optimized Grids and not on legacy grids. From the browser network trace and Pega tracer output I could see that the Close Modal function triggers a Reload section, but in case of Optimized Grids its calling the pyDeleteDocumentPg activity which actually triggers the Reload Harness.
I have tested the same on Pega's default DM sample application, and the same is observed. Has anyone faced the issue earlier, is there any configuration changes that we can apply to stop this behavior or is it a issue from the Optimized Grids in Pega. Thanks

@Tushar Banerjee This occurs because the pyDeleteDocumentPg activity triggers a harness refresh. To address this, you can ensure the Local Action is configured correctly without unnecessary "Reload Harness" or "Refresh Harness" actions. Instead, use section refresh settings to reload only the relevant sections. You can also customize the pyDeleteDocumentPg activity cautiously to prevent the harness reload. Alternatively, consider using the reloadSection API in custom JavaScript to refresh specific parts of the UI without impacting the entire harness. If the issue persists, switch to legacy grids for this functionality as they don't have this problem. Lastly, since this behavior occurs even in Pega's default DM sample application, it might be a product limitation or bug. Also open an Pega SR along with detailed tracer logs, network traces, and steps to reproduce, can help confirm and resolve the issue. thanks

Hi @Sairohith,
Thank you for the response. As per the configuration we are not doing any explicit Section or Harness Reload. Hence planning to go for a Pega SR to get a clarification if there is any limitation with this configuration on the Optimized Grids.
