Starting listerners from SMA

Hi,

We have few listerners in our project both file and email. When we try to start the listener using SMA, we are still seeing status of listener as Sleep. Not sure whether it got started or not. How we can say that listener is started or not....

Hi Nagendra,

Glad to hear that you were able to identify the listener status now.

  • Time Started  - Time when the listener is started on this node.
  • Last Access - Last run/processing time for the listener. (This will be same as Time started for first time right after restart)
  • Request Count - No of requests processed(could be emails, files/records)
  • Last Request - Time when the last request was processed by this Listener.
  • Error Count - If there is any issue with processing for any item, this counter gets incremented. 
  • Last Error -  This will display the exception/error message if any as far as I know.

Hi Nagendra,

The listener status Sleeping depends on the Latency period specified in the Listener rule form and when there is nothing to process.  Sleeping doesn't mean that the listeners aren't running. 

From SMA perspective, you will have to verify the below fields to determine if Listener has started and running as per the configuration. 

You can also check request count or error count if the listener has successfully processed any emails/files.

Hi Harish,

Thanks for the reply. I start the listener today and could see instance created with current date and time. Can you please explain me the meaning of these columns. What does these below columns actually stands for. Thanks in advance..

  • Time Started
  • Last Access
  • Request Count
  • Last Request
  • Error Count
  • Last Error
