SMA (PRPC System Management) not working in Google Chrome / Edge Chromium
Hello,
I know it is a known issue that the SMA is not working in Chrome, but all statements I've found so far are a few years old and I was asking myself if there is a solution for this in the meantime.
We are using Pega 7.1.9 and in an other project 7.2.1 where it is working. I hope that there is a way to also make it working on 7.1.9, as our client would like to use Edge Chromium from next year onwards as the only browser.
The only backup solution we have at the moment is to install an IE tab plugin.

SMA has been removed from the product and replaced by Admin Studio in Pega 8.x. It is time for your team to consider upgrading to Pega infinity. Please visit the pega product site to explore. Also remember, SMA is for Pega system admin, should not have any bearing on end users. I think you can still control the scope of users (in this case, system admins) to use IE.

I know that it has been replaced in Pega 8. I am working for a huge client which has a Pega application which was build over the last 10+ years. Upgrading is not possible.
Furthermore it is also not possible to keep IE. This is not in our control. I am talking about a global client who has taken the decision for all areas and accessing the SMA in Pega won't be a reason to keep the browser.
Can you please answer my questions? Is there a solution to use the SMA in Edge Chromium with Pega 7.1.9?
If not, then how is Pega answering to the fact that Microsoft's IE is end of life mid next year and therefore accessing the SMA will not be possible anymore?

Hi, which version of SMA are you using and on which platform are you running it? We are running sma 7.3.1 and it runs fine on the Edge browser and the chrome browser

Hey, we are using Pega 7.1.9. Here I found an old question where it was written that it is not supported: https://collaborate.pega.com/question/sma-doesnot-work-chrome
I just hoped that there is something new or someone found a solution. I even had small hopes Pega provided a hotfix for this.

You might only upgrade your SMA to the 731 version. We monitor 7.2 environments with that version too. I am not sure if it also supports 7.1.9, but that's a question you could ask Pega.
