Session timeout increase
Hi
we are in Pega 7.2 .App uses only pega Authentication .
Now the time out has to be increased to 8 hrs from 4 hrs . Bit this is not working
Tried solutions:
Added 8 hrs to the access group authentication timeout
added DSS for prconfig setting passivation interval to 8hrs
prconfig/timeout to 8 hrs
prconfig/timeout/thread to 8 hrs .
restarted the servers but no luck
is there any other place to set this to increase the timeout so that user can stay in the application for 8 hrs ?

Can you please add the pxSessionTimer section soewhere in your portal giving parameter as your time out number of seconds?

There are two timeouts and two behaviors to consider. All are controlled by configurable system settings. The settings are not included in standard dynamic system settings or prconfig.xml.
- authentication timeout -- time after which an operator will be prompted to re-verify credentials (user/password)
- requestor timeout - timeout after which the requestor is freed from memory and "passivated"
You can look for timeout category into this configuration document for application and browser timeouts and you can set the respective setting.

Hi Ranjith,
You can set the timeout setting at Access Group. In advanced tab you can mention the value in seconds.
Instead if you want to set the time out from prconfig.xml, you can use below setting.
<env name="timeout/application" value="xxx in seconds" />
If you want to set browser level time out, use below one
<env name="timeout/browser" value="xxx in seconds" />
prconfig setting should work if we use basic authentication provided by Pega.
If you use SSO authentication , you can verify the Authentication Service data instance for timeout setting.
