Have you observed the unresponsive issue on all the browsers ? 

Are you using any custom authentication for login into Pega ? If yes, you can easily control what screen you want to show on timeout. 

If you are using a basic OOTB auth mechanism, after user session gets timed out, you should be able to see a browser pop-up requesting for user credentials.  This depends on the timeout value specified in the user's access group.
