Restricting Managers to their reporting user's work

Have following scenario :

Actors : 

Marketting User1 (MU1), Marketting User 2 (MU2) report to Marketting Manager 1 (MM1)

Marketting User3 (MU3), Marketting User 4 (MU4) report to Marketting Manager 2 (MM2)

 

Have assigned User portal to MU and Manager portal to MM

Now, the problem is that the manager MM2can see the work of MU1 and MU2 as well.

How do we restrict the MM2's view to only the work assigned to his reportees ?

I am looking for an OOTB option. Customizing the report definition is always possible.

I think this requirenment can be achieve by using the workgroups specifically for the two users and the manager.Let me know if any issues arrise.

Do we have any other option ?

I have a workgroup common to all Marketting Users.

I do not want to again create different work groups to further divide the Marketting Users.
