Report Browser, Export to Excel Functionality should save in XLSX Format
The Export to excel functionality enables us to download the file in “xls” format which the customer isn’t accepting due to space constraint, older version of Excel, data comprising of HTML tags and security reasons
The exported/ downloaded should be of XLSX format

What version of PRPC are you working on and the Office version you are using? I am currently checking Pega 7.3 and I can see that the export to excel downloads in '.xlsx' format.

Hello Shiva,
In 7.3 version, functionaliy has been modified to export excel in .xlsx format.
Prior to 7.3 it is downloaded in .xls format .eature
If not using Report Definition OOTB Export to Excel , use below link to download excel is .xlsx format using @baseclass.MSOGenerateExcelFile activity.
