We are using PRPC 7.2.1/weblogic 12. We are looking at potentially using websockets for realtime case level notifications using websockets. Has anyone implemented such a solution? The requirement is to display the completion status of a long running request initiated by user at a case level. Would also be good to know of any other implementation solutions.

I see some internal POCs done related to use of websockets for the similar use cases - not yet productized. Please reach out to your account manager (who would in turn contact product management) to understand the potential product roadmap.

Real Time notifications are now supported in Pega platform starting from 7.2.1 through engine api's , A model driven approach to support / configure them using OOTB action / event attributes are expected to be rolled out from 7.2.2 GA onwards, however - prpc will not support web-sockets on web-logic instead it falls back to long-poll , due to the way web-logic registers the Web-Socket endpoints which is quite different in case of other Application servers.
