PRPC websocket integration

We are using PRPC 7.2.1/weblogic 12. We are looking at potentially using websockets for realtime case level notifications using websockets. Has anyone implemented such a solution? The requirement is to display the completion status of a long running request initiated by user at a case level. Would also be good to know of any other implementation solutions.
