Pega Mobile Application - Mobile APK & FCM
We are migrating from Pega 7.3.1 to Pega 8.2.1, as part of this activity we are having couple of questions/information needed.
1. For building a new env for Pega upgrade (8.2.1), we are cloning the existing env (Pega 7.3.1). And on top of it we are executing migration steps. Once the migration is completed we need to build an mobile apk, for this apk building should we use existing certificates or we need to use new certificates?
2. For building a FCM project can we use existing FCM project or new one should be created?
3. Mobile App is not reflecting in all the applications.

- First, Platform Patch 8.2.5 is available, and you should include it before testing or go live.
- If you intend to install the new mobile app on top of the old mobile app, and the certificates are still valid, you do not need new certificates.
- You should always grab the latest FCM libraries and APKs.
- I don't fully understand what you mean by this? Are you saying that you are not seeing your latest changes in the mobile app?
- Did you make sure the app versions are incremented before building and deploying?
- Did you force a full sync for each of the access groups associated with your application?

Thanks Hall.
1. Currently we are in patch version 8.2.1.
2. We are taking the latest FCM libraries whenever we are building an apk.
3. We are incrementing the app version before mobile apk build.
4. Yes we are doing a forcefull sync on the associated access group.

Moving it to 8.2.5 patch needs to take call by business.
We are able to install the mobile app with latest changes, but the pulse notifications and other notifications (pop up's) are not in sync with the version 7.3.1

Hello Team,
The customer is looking for information about google FCM project & server certificate and want to know how 8.2.5 patch will have advantages over 8.2.1 for the google FCM project & server certificates.

Hi, migration from GCM to FCM (Firebase) was done in 8.2.2. However, if you are going to upgrade, I would suggest 8.2.5 as it has 9 months of cumulative fixes and testing over 8.2.2. Any new support fixes will be delivered in 8.2.6 or later. Staying current will reduce future upgrade risks and costs.
