Pega marketing Upgrade from 7.22 to 8.1

Hi,

While going through the Pega Marketing Upgrade guide, I came to know about below points (PFA) which are more specific to Pega marketing 7.31 & 7.21 but nothing is mentioned about 7.22. Could you please recommend what shall we do for 7.22. Do we need to upgrade to 7.3/7.4 first or we can directly upgrade marketing to 8.1?

Hi,

The process is documented for 7.4 to 8.1 on https://community.pega.com/knowledgebase/articles/pega-cloud-services-upgrade-pega-platform-and-suite-crm-applications

We have to look on separately this special handle the upgrade plan from 7.22 to 8.1; Recommendation is to understand the upgrade experience on a clone first. Also the 8.1 requires the latest cloud infrastructure.

It is advisable to create an SR ticket and we will describe the process. Also, you can reach out directly to the CSM/AE if you have assigned someone.

Please note that the information provided above (https://community.pega.com/knowledgebase/articles/pega-cloud-services-upgrade-pega-platform-and-suite-crm-applications) is applicable to Pega Cloud environments only.  Otherwise upgrading from Pega Marketing 7.22 to Pega Marketing 8.1 does require an interim upgrade to Pega Marketing 7.31 or 7.4.

Hi,

Thanks for the update. We had an internal discussion and you are correct. Upgrading marketing from Pega 7.22 to 8.1 requires interim update to 7.3/7.4

It is now possible to upgrade from Pega Marketing 7.22 to Pega Marketing 8.1 without an interim upgrade to Pega Marketing 7.3.  Please see https://community.pega.com/knowledgebase/articles/pega-marketing-upgrade-paths for up-to-date upgrade information.
