Pega Marketing - Are Offers Availability dates taken into account implicitly by the strategies?

Hello,

Regardless of the dates that I key in the offer availability fields, I always see that offer coming up as eligible if all other strategy criterias are satisfied.

Is this a product defect or are we expected to filter out explicitly in the strategy all offers whose availability lays outside the present moment?

Hi,

If it is a hand crafted strategy you will need to filter out unavailable products (add a filter).

Can you please add the following details?

  • Pega platform version
  • Pega Marketing version
  • Does the 'Form' tab of the decision data rule in the group class of this offer have the properties StartDate and EndDate?
  • How is the behavior if you test the strategy containing this proposition stand-alone (from the strategy test run panel)?

Please find my answers below in bold:

  • Pega platform version - 8.2.5

 

  • Pega Marketing version - 8.2

 

  • Does the 'Form' tab of the decision data rule in the group class of this offer have the properties StartDate and EndDate? - I'm not talking about any specific offer. The fields "Availability Dates" are present for any offers and Start and End Date are present at Top Level (please refer to the attached screenshot).

 

  • How is the behavior if you test the strategy containing this proposition stand-alone (from the strategy test run panel)? - As said before "Regardless of the dates that I key in the offer availability fields, I always see that offer coming up as eligible if all other strategy criteria are satisfied."

Hi Duarte,

Thank you for sharing the product versions. I think I wasn't entirely clear with one of the questions.

  • Does the 'Form' tab of the decision data rule in the group class of this offer have the properties StartDate and EndDate?

What I meant is, if you were to open the decision data rule that backs-up your offers and navigate to the 'Form' tab, are the StartDate and EndDate fields still available? Please refer to the screenshot below.

Why this is important is, if the fields are not present on the 'Form' tab, the eligibility based on the dates may not be calculated at run time.

Hi Girish,

 

Indeed those properties are visible on the Decision Data rule. Does this means that Pega should automatically exclude the offers where the availability dates don't include the current day?

Please refer to the attached screenshot for further details on the Decision Data.
