Pega BIX Query
Hi All,
We have requirement to extract Data from Pega Application using Pega BIX for reporting purpose.
We need to modify the value of certain property/field and get those in extracted report.
Is it possible can we do it in Pega BIX like modifying or applying some transformation?
I can think of creating new property and then apply some logic or transformation and set value in Pega and then use newly property in extract rule to generate report.
Another solution , i can think of creating user defined function alias or sql function and use those functions in filter of extract rule similar like Report Definition?
Please let me know if you can think of any other solution in this regard. Happy to connect.

Yes, it is possible to apply some logic or transformation before extracting data using Pega BIX, but BIX itself does not directly support modifying property values during extraction. A common and simple solution is to create a new property in your class, then use a data transform, declare expression, or activity to set the modified value. You can include this new property in your BIX extract rule to generate the report. If you are extracting data to a database and want SQL-level transformation, you could use a report definition with a function alias or SQL function, but this can be harder to manage. The recommended approach is to handle all transformations inside Pega before extraction to keep things clear and easy to maintain.
