We have one single Pega Platform application but we have two portals: one that is for the users to do their daily work and another which holds data tables where users can update reference data that we use to run the workflow.

We have given all roles in the system access to both portals. When an operator logs in they can access the default portal, but if we give them a link to the secondary portal, it always just opens the default portal again. If we change their default to the reference data portal, they can then access that portal but never the main portal again.

We know the access is working as we can get them into either portal when we change the default. However, we can't have the user accessing both portals at the same time. The system allows you to set as many available portals as we wish, so it wouldn't make sense if users can only ever use one portal, else why let them have multiple available?

Can somebody please help us work out how the user can go into both portals so they can do work but also update the reference data. They are both within the same application and everybody has access, they just can only ever see whichever we mark as the default.
