To add a "New User" link on the Pega Constellation v24.1 login screen, follow these steps:

1. Modify the Authentication Service UI

Since Constellation UI does not allow direct section customization, you must update the Authentication Service configuration.

Steps to Add "New User" Link in Login Screen

1. Navigate to Authentication Service

   • Go to Dev Studio → Records → Sysadmin → Authentication Service.
   • Open the authentication service used for login (e.g., WebLDAP1, Custom, or Browser SSO).

2. Enable Custom Login HTML

   • Scroll down to the Custom HTML section (if available in v24.1).
   • If not available, update the custom authentication activity.

3. Inject link into Login Screen

   • Look for the Custom HTML option (or Authentication activity) and add the following HTML:

Alternative Approach: Modify Login Section (If Available)

If Pega allows custom login section overrides, you can:

• Navigate to @baseclass → pyLoginScreen section.
• Add a link control that calls openURL action to launch the case creation page.

Security & Access Considerations

• Ensure that Guest users (unauthenticated users) have access to the UserRegistration case type by updating the Access Group for Unauthenticated users.
• Verify that the pyStartCase privilege is granted for the case type.

Handle Validation & D Pages

• Validations:
  • Configure Validation Rules in your case type.
  • Use Field Validations in the view to ensure required fields are entered.
  • Apply Edit Validate rules if complex validation is needed.
• Data Pages for Prefill:
  • If you need to load reference data (e.g., country list, roles), create read-only D-pages.
  • Scope them as Requestor or Thread, depending on need.
  • Reference them in the UI using Data References.
