[ML8] SmartInfo Issue in Report Definition
Hi,
We have a client use case - if you click a row in RD, it needs to expand and show additional details including a Grid.
We are looking for a feature like 'expandable row' in Grid. Can we do this in RD?
When I tried SmartInfo in RD, it is not behaving desirably. See below.

We can't do an expandable row in Report Definition (as you can do in GRID). We will raise an enhancement request.

One more, when we added SmartInfo to RD, it looks like we can no longer click a RD row to open a Review Harness. When we remove SmartInfo, then I can click a row again to open Review Harness.

To get the above mentioned functionality,
You may give a look to Expand Pane in UI Gallery (defined in pxUIGalleryExpandPaneWrapper Section)

Are you suggesting having some layouts with visible whens to simulate the expand pane behavior ?
It might be possible but again there will be difficulty in aligning the individual properties to the header i guess.

Yes, I plan to try the custom section (once I'm off from client meetings this week).
But with the custom section, my question is .. "Can we Export to Excel the row data as usual if we use a custom section in RD?"

Just tried 'displays row using custom section' but did not achieve the desired behavior. See below.
We need to show the RD rows as usual as defined in the Query tab and only when each row is expanded show the custom section for each expanded row.
I think we used to have this similar feature in ListView. It is surprising that RD does not support this common use case/capability. This could be a nice enhancement in RD.

Yes. I completely agree with you on this.
So basically we display only the primary details as part of the row and when the user wants to get more context on this, they just need to expand the row for the same.
Could you please raise this as an enhancement request with the Pega GCS. Since List View is deprecated, this has to be supported in Report Definition.
