If your case jumps from an earlier stage like "Writing initial reports" to a future one like "Awarding", and you want the skipped stages in between to show as completed, you can handle that easily. When using the Change Stage step, make sure to enable the setting that allows skipped stages to be marked as completed. This option is available in newer Pega versions, and you’ll see it as something like “mark skipped stages as completed.” If you're using a utility or activity like pxChangeStage, just pass the parameter to skip and complete intermediate stages (SkipIntermediateStages = true). This way, even though the case didn’t go through each stage one by one, Pega will show them as completed in the case lifecycle so your customer sees a clean and accurate progression.
