Looking optimized design for dashboard reporting
It is the scenario
We are pulling data from 4 different tables A,B,C , and D
We are having four different roles (W, X,Y, and Z) for the dashboard
If you see below design, four Report definition and repeating grid are used.
How to optimize below design to have only one Report definition and repeating grid?
Role W <- Repeating Grid <– Report Definition <- Class A
Role X <- Repeating Grid< – Report Definition <- Class B
Role Y <- Repeating Grid <– Report Definition < - Class C
Role Z <- Repeating Grid <– Report Definition <- Class D

Hi John,
Can you please provide more detail about the relationship between the 4 classes/tables A, B, C and D? Are they all descendants of the same class? Are any of them descendants of the other classes?

If these are all independent classes loading from separate tables, the only way I can think of to use a single report definition is to define 4 separate sub-reports, and filter accordingly in the main report.
