Limiting characters in a line in a text area
Can anyone suggest a way to limit the number of characters in a line in a text area with Pega 7 (7.1.7)?
For example, specifying that max 70 characters may be entered per line, at which point a new line is required / created.
The standard text area has a presentation option to specify a custom width in columns, but it looks like that only affects the text area control presentation, it does not add a new line to the text.

I do not think it is ok for a user input control to automatically insert a new line every 70 characters .
Has this worked in previous version of PRPC ?
Even outside of PRPC, in a simple HTML the "cols" attribute can only play with the presentation and not automatically insert new line characters (Tryit Editor v2.6)
I would suggest going via Edit input rule (OR) using some kind of post processing once the user has entered values .

I have not tried this with previous versions of PRPC.
The text is sent to a third party service, therefore we cannot modify the service. There are restrictions in terms of the length of each line of text sent to the service. For example, it could be: maximum 100 lines of text, maximum 50 characters per line.
We need a UI control to help the user enter the text in the required format.
I will give the edit input a go. Any other suggestions are welcome!
