Hi,

Issue with reading the Pega screens using JAWS (Job Access With Speech)

When run in IE the  screen reader (Jaws) correctly reads the label.

When run in Chrome  the screen reader (Jaws ) reads the list as  (Search ,edit, type, test).

If focus is on the list checkbox I hear, "Lists checkbox checked"

Then, "recent reports link"

Then, "all reports link"

Then, when I land on the actual search input field, this is where I hear similar to what you are describing.

"search reports edit, reports, type in text"

Is it possible you have focus of this instead? And also may have misheard JAWS?

If you are certain you are on the list label and are hearing something different, please open an SR with all the details you have.

Hi Rett,

Thanks for prompt response.

Since I don't have JAWS on my local system, I was waiting for client's response to confirm.

Today I have installed JAWS on local system JAWS 16. But I don't know how to use and test web application. I am not getting any sound, when I tab in our our application.

Could you guide me.

Hi Rajasekhar,

Make sure JAWS is working independently first, to ensure it is installed properly and sounds is working etc. The JAWS application itself should read out various things as you interact with its menus. In the same respect, it will read out desktop icons, and various other things.

Is that stuff working for you, but your Pega app isn't? Or can you not even get that far?

Hi Rett,

After installation and configuration, I started my system. I can see below icon

When I click on Help and play, I can here sound. I thing it demo recording. Please find the screen shot

I don't here any sound while login and after login, when I press key on laptop keyboard. It is not reading desktop icons.

Please guide me to make working JAWS on my Laptop.
