Icons are read as Link by JAWS screen reader
Hi
I have the Logo and other icons on a web Page. When the JAWS (17 version) reads the icon as Link. The role for that icon as also "Link". As there is not option of Accessibility Role, where we can change to Button, how to fix this issue.
Thank you

Hi Nalin,
If I am not wrong, thats the limitation of JAWS. Icons is read as links, because for accessible user the icon doesn't make user-friendly and much meaningful. So, role as well is link instead of icon. Though, discussion is still open. I would also like to learn further.

Hi
As per the first link, when the tool tip (which is atl) is added, it reads the message and as reads the icon role is link (note: icon has an action for focus)
