'Close tab' button not announced by Jaws screen reader

Version: 8.3.0
Accessibility Issue: Close tab buttons contained within <li role=tab> is not announced by the screen reader when it has keyboard focus. Close tab button coded as a <span role=button title='Close tab' tabindex='0'>.
Would anyone know the root cause of the issue, as well as how to remediate this issue?

Do you see this problem in the interaction portal?
I just verified in a local instance, interaction portal tab's got a close button with span having an aria-label
aria-label="Close Tab"
<span role="button" id="close" aria-label="Close Tab" title="Close Tab" tabindex="0" class="iconCloseSmall" data-stc="1" style="margin-left:3px;vertical-align:top"></span>
If not interaction portal, which portal are you using? and what tabs has the aria-label missing?

Yes, this problem is in the Interaction Portal. To clarify, the issue is that the Jaws screen reader does not announce 'Close tab button' to the user when the following element receives keyboard focus:
<span role="button" id="close" aria-label="Close Tab" title="Close Tab" tabindex="0" class="iconCloseSmall" data-stc="1" style="margin-left:3px;vertical-align:top"></span>
The expectation is that the Jaws screen reader announces 'Close tab button' so the user is aware of the interactive element and the purpose of the button.
Currently, the Jaws screen reader announces the accessible information on the parent <li role=tab> instead of the aria-label and role on the <span>.

Were you able to reproduce the issue? I am currently able to reproduce this issue in the Pega Customer Service Demo App (PegaCSSample), so we do not believe this is a project specific issue.
