Increasing Db query time out exception
Encountered below error when a database query is being executed :
interaction has exceeded the elapsed time alert threshold of 1000 ms: 1595 ms.*
Is there any way we can configure the database time out settings in the config.xml file or it has to be done on the DB server by a DBA
We are currently on Pega 6.1 SP2

This looks like Pega0001, which is not DB query alert, which is Pega0005. See this link for details: https://community.pega.com/knowledgebase/articles/pega0001-alert-http-interaction-time-exceeds-limit

How do you know that this alert is coming because of database query.Please verify alert logs,The above alert looks like pega0001 alert which means html is taking time to load.Are you getting any other alert along with this alert.If it is related to database then there will be pega0005 alert.Try to find out a pattern of alerts like pega0005 followed by pega0001.Check the query in pega0005 and create index if it is not present.

You should consider first, if it's really a problem in your case.
1000ms is a default value which must be adjusted for each application. Sometimes 500ms is too high, sometimes, 5000ms is acceptable (depends how heavy your request is).

As from this message "interaction has exceeded the elapsed time alert threshold of 1000 ms: 1595 ms." it shows PEGA0001 alert is generating , So you need to check the logs and verify which all Activities in your application is generating the pega0001 alert , based on that you can determine in which area you need to fine tune this issue as its not indicating the DB issue.
