If child case closed automatically parent case also closed

We have one parent and child case,tried to close the child case using "pxForceCaseClose" but automatically parent case also getting closed in pega 7.3.1.Any suggestion to skip the process of parent case closure.

But in pega 8.3.1,"pxForceCaseClose" we have the parameter like "CloseParentCase" to skip.
