How to pass parameters or key of workobejct from one tab to other
Hi all,
We are using Pega 7 for development.
On the work object where we display audit, help etc we have put an additional link . From this link we want to launch another harness on a new tab . This harness has a report which based on the key of the workobject which was displayed on first tab. But we are not able to pass the key of the work object so that the report can run correctly. We tried using the data transform and activity approach but it runs on primary page pydisplayharness and not the pyWorkPage of the open work object. I could not understand and use the 'Key' field in below screenshot.
Any help is much appreciated.

Hi Aniket,
Key is an Optional field. Enter the key value (pzInsKey) of a data instance you want to automatically open as the new primary page when the harness is displayed. The system uses this value to identify the record. This action executes before a pre-activity (if defined). Used with New Document. Try passing the proper key and check the behavior once !

Hi Santanu,
I used the keys and now I am able to display the report. I am passing pzInskey and in the section on new tab I am setting the Param value equal to pyID so that my report displays data of only that order. So I suspect when we mention the key Pega will pass the entire pyWorkPage of that key.
One issue I am facing now is even after using 'New Document' the results are overriding the current window.
The help suggests as below.
New Document — Opens the harness and replaces the current dynamic container contents.
But I am sure there is a way to open it in a new Tab. Can someone throw some light on when exactly 'New document' opens a new tab and when it just replaces the current window.
