Populate data in a grid by passing parameters(one of column)
Hello,
I am having a requirement of populating a column in a grid but selecting another column.
- Say I am having two data types DT1 and DT2 . In DT1 I am having list of records.
- Now in work class I am going to created a Page list property by giving DT2 as source.
- DT1 and DT2 are having two similar columns (Date and Swiped Hrs)
When I am going to choose a property defined in DT2 I need to get the data accordingling from DT1 records. How could I achieve this requirement?Could any one help me resolving this requirement.

If you select the Date and Swiped Hrs anyone of the two property should we receive all the data related to these two columns in the DT1
Is that the same thing you are referring?

Hello Prasanth,
If i select Date i should get only swiped Hrs value from DT2 to the columns of DT1 and by the way Date is my parameter.

Hi Suhita,
Both the Data Types will have their individual DataPage of type list.
You can change the default Datapage to accept parameters that is required and then can get any required values from either data Type. You can copy the value to target List as well if required.

Hello Ujjwal,
I have configured a Page List property with a report definition as its source where I kept my desired parameters as filter. I kept the refresh strategy as when referenced. But its not working for me. Then I went for writing a data transform, here I came to know as both my data types possess different properties I couldn't copy data from one Page List to other. (Please check the below attached image)
Is there any solution to copy data between two data types with different properties.

Hi SriSuhita,
You can use define class joins on Data Access tab of the report definition to enable reporting on data from multiple classes or tables.
You can alternatively use Subreports which enable results from any report definition (including a report definition defined on a different Applies To class) to be referenced and included in another report definition.
